Zamak ingots
The most noteworthy zinc alloy is zamak, due to its entity and importance. Zamak is an alloy composed of zinc and other metals, mainly aluminium, magnesium and copper. This alloy has a number of unique properties that make it ideal for injecting (using the cold or hot chamber system and centrifugation) and casting. As such, zamak is a metal with high mechanical resistance and one which stands out for its deformability and castability. It is also an excellent solution for machining processes.
In particular, the injection of zamak under pressure allows for the manufacture of precision parts with the desired finishes and treatments.
The sector par excellence for parts made using zamak is the automotive industry. However, zamak is also used in construction, electronics, costume jewellery and other sectors.
